Oru Maja Invites You to Shape Your Home: Why Now is the Time to Choose Your Interior Design Package

A major milestone is approaching for the interior design of Oru Maja apartments, situated by the edge of Kadriorg Park. Until the end of June, buyers can have their say in defining the look and feel of their new home. This is the last chance to select a personalized interior package, as by summer, the Metro team will finalize the designs for the apartments still on the market.

“If you buy an apartment in June, you’ll not only benefit from a tax advantage but also get to play a bigger role in shaping what your future home will look like,” says Herdis Pärn, Marketing and Sales Manager at Metro. This is the final moment to have a say, as the construction has reached the stage where interior materials need to be selected immediately.

Inspiration Drawn Directly from the Surroundings

The interior design choices at Oru Maja are neither random nor based solely on current trends. Inspiration has been drawn from the building’s surroundings: the majestic oak tree around which the architecture seems to weave, the lush Kadriorg Park, the nearby Reidi tee promenade, and the silvery-grey hues of Tallinn Bay.

“We didn’t want to create just another modern apartment building,” explains Koit Tuulik, Project Manager of Oru Maja. “This area demands tasteful design that respects the place. Every choice was made with the idea of bringing the character of the surrounding park and sea into the interiors.”

According to Tuulik, the goal was for the design packages to resonate with the people of Kadriorg. “If we had built the same house in another part of the city, the design direction might have been entirely different,” he adds.

Five Packages – Five Distinct Characters

Oru Maja offers a choice of five interior packages: Flora, Mare, Terra, Aura, and Silva.

The first three—Flora, Mare, and Terra—are designed with the idea of creating a true home. “These packages bring warmth, texture, wood, and captivating details to create a more personal and cozy home atmosphere,” says Pärn.

The Flora package is perhaps the boldest, with a clear nod to the greenery of Kadriorg. “Green interior doors, green vanity units, deep green bathroom tiles—it’s a design deeply inspired by Kadriorg Park and its verdant surroundings,” describes Tuulik.

Mare brings the coolness and movement of Tallinn Bay into the interior. Light grey-toned wood parquet, grey doors, and tiles reminiscent of saltstone create a calm, Nordic mood.

Terra is classic and elegant, featuring herringbone oak parquet, profiled white doors, and marble-effect tiles that echo Kadriorg’s architectural heritage.

Practicality and Easy Maintenance That Lasts

The Aura and Silva packages are tailored for those who might consider using their apartment as a rental property or who value easy maintenance. “We’ve deliberately chosen more durable materials here. For example, very high-quality laminate parquet that can be easily cleaned and stands up to frequent use much better than traditional wood flooring,” Pärn explains.

While some in Estonia still hesitate over laminate, its quality and appearance have improved significantly. “Modern laminate parquet is almost indistinguishable from wood. And especially for short-term rentals, it’s crucial that the flooring can withstand regular deep cleaning, which wood parquet can’t handle,” she adds.

All packages offer the option to include soft carpeting in bedrooms or sleeping areas, adding extra warmth and coziness to the space.

Designed with Purpose, Not Just Following Trends

While modern interior design trends were naturally considered, Oru Maja’s solutions were guided first and foremost by the location and architectural concept. “Of course, we can’t create something completely out of sync with current tastes—it needs to be stylish today and remain relevant over time,” says Tuulik. However, the most important thing was ensuring that the building resonated with the local context and its people.

The architecture of Oru Maja, created by the renowned Arhitekt 11 studio, is characterized by dark brown brick and Thermory thermal wood, elements that have also been incorporated into the interior design. Floor-to-ceiling windows and French balconies on the first four floors bring the surrounding greenery into the interiors, while the fifth floor offers spacious terraces with views over the sea and the city.

Your Last Chance to Make a Choice

The Metro team emphasizes that June is a decisive month. “In summer, we’ll finalize the interior package selections for those apartments still on the market. So now is your chance to make your home truly your own,” says Pärn.

Oru Maja is more than just a new apartment building—it’s an opportunity to create a home that connects with its surroundings and reflects the owner’s personality. “We’re not reinventing the wheel here, but we’re creating homes where people genuinely want to come and stay,” says Tuulik.
