The Marienberg community volleyball court is now open, inviting local residents and city dwellers from afar to come and play. The volleyball court is located on the current grounds of the Estonian Exhibition Center, behind the blue pavilion.
“During a walk on the future Marienberg property, we found an old volleyball court. Since the area will eventually become a community center with numerous recreational and sports opportunities for the residents and visitors, we decided to refurbish the beach volleyball court for this summer,” said Metro marketing manager Herdis Pärn.
She expressed hope that the volleyball court would provide an opportunity to meet other community members and spend time actively. “It’s definitely a convenient location for those coming from Kadriorg and other parts of the city center or Pirita, but volleyball enthusiasts from all over the city are welcome.”
Use of the court is free for players, and no prior reservation is needed. To ensure that all community members enjoy their time on the volleyball court, everyone is encouraged to use the court responsibly. Treat other attendees kindly, keep the area clean, and leave the court in even better condition than you found it.
The volleyball court will remain open until the end of the season, as long as the weather is favorable for playing.
In addition to spending time on the volleyball court, the future Marienberg district will offer activities such as walking along the green promenade, urban gardening, reading on park benches, enjoying the playground, engaging in various sports, or meeting neighbors on the jogging trail.
